The Renew & Rise Retreat
Applications Open January 2025
Nonprofit leaders, especially executives, often sit alone with Boards of Directors on one side and their staff on the other side. Without peers or a supportive community, nonprofit leaders may feel like they’re carrying the whole weight of their work alone.
We know, because we’ve been there.
This is a supportive and restorative retreat for a small group of leaders committed to critical change in our community. This first session is specifically for leaders who are based in Central Texas – regardless of where their work is focused.
This is an intimate day of building connections, gaining insight on professional challenges, and clarifying personal goals in a supportive community.
As your guides for the day, we will cultivate a safe, comfortable, replenishing day of nourishing connection, reflection, and collaboration among peers.
Let’s work together to create the communities that support each of us in building the just and affirming world we want to live in.
Your Hosts
We know because we’ve been there.
After years leading nonprofit organizations and supporting the leaders of the powerful, mission-based organizations in our community, we’ve seen a common issue that contributes to burn out and depletion for leaders – more than any other issue — isolation.
We’ve come together with a shared passion for leadership and supporting those who are there for their communities to lead this gathering of change makers to build supportive and sustain communities.

Garcia is a very common Hispanic last name, and the 6th most common last name in the US.
Eileen's parents were both born in Cuba and came to the U.S. (separately) as refugees in 1962. Like many Cuban-Americans, Eileen was born in Miami, but she moved throughout her life. She understands Spanish well, but her proficiency in speaking ebbs and flows. This past year, Eileen has engaged with her first client who communicates primarily in Spanish during their conversations, with Eileen's coaching vacillating from English to Spanish to Spanglish during their sessions, depending on topic.
Mimi's Garcia ancestors hailed from the Canary Islands and settled in San Antonio when Texas was still part of Mexico. Her mother was born in Michoacan, Mexico and raised in Amarillo, traveling frequently between Texas and Mexico.
